Computer Types and Users

Introduction
At Milford Computer Service we address computer repair extensively. When people call to ask "can you service my PC?", it's interesting to note which types of customers are using which types of PCs.

Many people consider computers to be just that, computers, and they often image this machine as being something to either work on or play with. While that may be true for the most part, as working and playing on a computer is certainly what most of us do, there are however, many different types of these computers, no matter that the end-goal of its use may be.

There are also different types of people and age-groups who would prefer different types and kinds of computers and the features they come with. Read on to learn more about different computers, and what kind of PCs are best for various working or even gaming requirements, what are the best traveling companions, as well as which configurations both hardware and safety-wise suit a whole family of computer users.

Best Computers for Business Owners
In the today's world, a business computer is one of the most vital company assets, technology-wise at least. Some may not share this opinion, but lets take a look at what the computer actually does for a company. The system connects partners and clients, it processes incoming and outgoing payments, and therefore keeps your business running smoothly, and almost on autopilot.

Now what about information? Think about all that vital info one company holds on their computer systems, from tax codes, inventory records to payrolls, trade clues, debt records, profit margins, employee information and so on. One other thing a good business computer is useful for is - predictions. Just taking a look at the record history of your company, stored on your computer, gives you a good clue of where you've been and where are going from this point, as a business.

Now, one important aspect of a business computer, which is different from a consumer system, is durability. Durability on top of performance and cost and what not. The design of a business computer system relies on components which will last much longer that those same components in a "standard" PC most people buy. Even though high-performance business systems are able to run HD movies and even play games, they must place the side of storing and processing data on top of their to-do list!

Business computer systems will often come with a higher price than a personal home computer with the same exact configuration, and that's all about durability. You just can't afford to risk hard drive failure on a computer which holds all your critical business information. Other than that, systems which are designed for business, don't come along with 'junkware' such as pre-installed advertisement software which mostly only slow down your system.

Best Family Friendly Computers
Of course, a single user or your whole family will use the computer for just about anything and everything. From staying in touch with relatives, letting Grandma know everything is OK over Skype, to managing finances and storing your favorite family media files such as holiday videos, photos and so on. All of this means it is important to buy the right computer, one which will suit your family needs.

Now, if you are taking every family member into consideration, from toddler to teenager, you need to know what everyone wants. Setting priorities will go a long way into helping you choose just the right computer on the market. Of course, there are dozens if not hundreds of choices and ways you can go into exploring family friendly computer systems.

Again, remember to prioritize your family members' needs before making any decisions. Maybe the kindergarten attendees will want to play their favorite games on the system, so you need to make sure that will be possible. On the other hand, if someone is going to use this system for work obligations, it is important to know the system will be powerful enough to run any software you may need for work. Planning on having family movie nights? Be sure the computers comes with a Blu-ray player or a DVD burner for just that.

If, on the other hand, you are only looking for something for your toddlers or young children to play with, the HP Mini 210 and the Toshiba L635 seem to be best options for kids. Granted, these are not desktop computers, but laptops, which should really come in handy if you don't want to risk having your kids mess with the work on your work system and so on. Both of these come with a 250GB of available space on the HDD, built-in webcams, games, word processing software and similar features.

Best Travel Laptops
Today, there are many folks who want to be able to stay on top of their work and use the time they spend traveling as much as possible. Computer laptops or tablets come in mind right away, but the choice you make here may very well discourage or motivate you to work while traveling. A lot of people have no choice but to work while they travel, and if you are one of those people, read on to learn more what you need to focus on, and what are your best bets!

First of all, don't think you can sacrifice the weight of a simple computer laptop, in order to gain on performance. Also, the size of the screen is what many people go for even though this could mean doubling the weight of the laptop! Carrying heavy laptops will not only hurt your shoulder while hauling it around with you, but will make you leave it at home or even get you to purchase a small notebook, once you figure out you don't need a 20 inch, high-end i7 processor and ultra graphic cards for your travel work.

Before size and weight, there will be of course, battery life hours and the price will come into question as well. For exactly all of these reasons, many recommend the Asus T100 as their favorite working laptop! The sleep design of this laptop and its 10.1 inch screen weighs only 2.4 lbs, which is among the lightest portable computers you can get.

The Asus T100 is a also amazingly cheap, with prices going from a steal of $300 to $400, it certainly seems to be a best-buy, work and travel-wise. Asus claims the battery life of this sweet choice is going to give you a full 11 hours of constant use! Even if it doesn't, this laptop supports USB battery packs which means you can even charge it when there's no power source near you.

Of course, it's not perfect, if you increase your price range, you can get better options, such as the Macbook Air, but those come with almost double the price tag! For standard, long-lasting hours of work on battery life, convenient keyboard, display, and HDD size, for about $350 - the Asus T100 is a very good deal.

Model is not important here. Just the basic type of machine. Sorry, we don't work on supercomputers or 1983 Tandys.
Use your own words to describe the problem. "Making funny noises", "I smell smoke", "Won't $!&@*# start!" are all OK.
